Which of the following environmental controls must be carefully researched so the control itself does not cause the destruction of the server equipment?
Answer: C
An application needs 10GB of RAID 1 for log files, 20GB of RAID 5 for data files, and 20GB of RAID 5 for the operating system. All disks will be 10GB in capacity. Which of the following is the minimum number of disks needed for this application?
Answer: C
To calculate the minimum number of disks needed for the given RAID configurations, let's break down each requirement: RAID 1 for log files: This requires mirroring, so each disk contributes half of its capacity. Since we need a total of 10GB usable space, we'll need 20GB raw capacity (10GB mirrored). Thus, we need 20GB / 10GB = 2 disks. RAID 5 for data files (20GB): RAID 5 requires at least three disks, and one disk worth of capacity is used for parity. So, for 20GB of usable space, we'll need 3 disks. RAID 5 for the operating system (20GB): Same as the data files, we'll need 3 disks for 20GB of usable space. Adding these up: RAID 1 (log files): 2 disks RAID 5 (data files): 3 disks RAID 5 (operating system): 3 disks Total disks needed: 2 + 3 + 3 = 8 disks. So, the correct answer is: C. 8

Which of the following backup methods protects all the changes that have occurred since the last full backup?
Answer: C
A security analyst completed a port scan of the corporate production-server network. Results of the scan were then provided to a systems administrator for immediate action. The following table represents the requested changes:
The systems administrator created local firewall rules to block the ports indicated above. Immediately, the service desk began receiving calls about the internet being down. The systems administrator then reversed the changes, and the internet became available again. Which of the following ports on DNSSrv must remain open when the firewall rules are reapplied?
Answer: E
A security administrator ran a port scanning tool against a virtual server that is hosting a secure website. A list of open ports was provided as documentation. The management team has requested that non-essential ports be disabled on the firewall. Which of the following ports must remain open?
Answer: C
A server is performing slowly, and users are reporting issues connecting to the application on that server. Upon investigation, the server administrator notices several unauthorized services running on that server that are successfully communicating to an external site. Which of the following are MOST likely causing the issue? (Choose two.)
Answer: BC
To me, this seems like a clear case of C&C (command and control) someone hacked into the server, and it is now calling home. The hacker may have changed firewall rules to allow the server to call home, or they have have been unsecure to begin with. The problem is not the users computers having adware, the server is what is running slow, causing a denial of availability for the users. Server has malware. and server is calling home, a clear B & C for me. Have gotten Pentest+ Cysa+ Security+ Network+, most of the answers in these questions (by the community) are pretty bad. study this stuff for yourself, don't depend on the answers in the discussions. Just my opinion.

A systems engineer is configuring a new VLAN for expansion of a campus network. The engineer configures a new DHCP scope on the existing Windows DHCP server cluster and activates the scope for the clients. However, new clients in the area report they are not receiving any DHCP address information. Which of the following should the engineer do first?
Answer: C
C. Confirm the network has a helper address for the DHCP server. A helper address (also known as IP Helper) is required when DHCP requests need to be forwarded across different network segments or VLANs. Configuring a helper address on routers or layer 3 switches allows DHCP messages to be relayed to the DHCP server located in a different subnet. Therefore, ensuring that the network has a helper address configured for the DHCP server is the first step in troubleshooting DHCP address assignment issues across VLANs.

After installing an OS on a new server, the administrator realizes the server does not have any network connectivity. The administrator checks the network cable, and it seems to be transferring data. Which of the following should be checked next?
Answer: B
B. IPv4 options Checking the IPv4 options involves ensuring the server is correctly configured to communicate on the network, including having a valid IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway. These settings can be assigned manually or obtained automatically through DHCP. If these settings are not correctly configured, the server will not be able to communicate on the network, even if the physical connection (network cable) is functioning correctly.

A technician needs to replace two RAID controllers on a database server as part of an upgrade. The server has six external storage arrays and eight internal disks that are controlled by the two RAID controllers. The technician completes the replacement and powers the systems back on, but the server OS detects several missing disks in the configuration. Which of the following steps should the technician take first to resolve this issue?
Answer: A
A technician is provisioning a 4TB LUN on a SAN for a Windows server. Which of the following filesystem types should be used for this server?
Answer: D
D. ReFS (Resilient File System) ReFS is designed by Microsoft to maximize data availability, scale efficiently to large data sets across diverse workloads, and provide data integrity with resiliency to corruption. It's particularly well-suited for large volumes, making it an ideal choice for a 4TB LUN. ReFS is compatible with Windows Server operating systems and is designed to work with data storage solutions such as SANs.
